Congregation

This is your Cathedral and you are very welcome to be here for worship and to explore Christianity and faith more deeply. The main congregational act of worship is the Sunday Eucharist service at 10.30am.

Peterborough Cathedral is part of the Church of England and the worldwide Anglican Communion. We have regular congregations not only for the Sunday Eucharist service when children’s groups are also available, but also for services at other times. The main daily service attended by visitors is Choral Evensong. At special times such as Christmas Eve or Remembrance Sunday, we often welcome congregations of 1000 or more people. For a full list of acts of worship, see our Services page.

Here is what to expect at the 10.30am Sunday service if you are joining us for the first time.

The Community Forum

The Community Forum, which meets four times a year, is a group of representatives from the Cathedral congregation. It provides the opportunity for discussion and feedback between the Chapter and people in the wider Cathedral community about the current and future operation of the Cathedral.

The Community Forum has a particular interest in voicing the congregation's views, determining how the Chapter Outward Mission budget will be shared, and encouraging the financial giving and stewardship of all who worship at Peterborough Cathedral.

In addition to the Community Forum’s four meetings a year, there is a congregational meeting held annually which reports the activities and progress made during the year, plus its plans for the future.
