Online Talk: Oliver Cromwell's infamous visit to Peterborough

Thursday 15 July 2021 19:30 - 10:56

We're delighted to welcome back Cromwellian expert Stuart Orme who will lead a 'Zoom Talk' about the devastating vandalism of Peterborough Cathedral during the Civil War.

This is the latest in our series of online history presentations in which Stuart, who's curator of the Cromwell Museum in Huntingdon, will unpack the dreadful reality about how the Roundheads created such havoc at the cathedral.

Legend tells that he smashed windows and stabled his horses in virtually every cathedral in England. But in fact it was Peterborough that was singled out for this behaviour.

Tickets are available now. £7 per viewing.
