6.30pm Stabat Mater - a Meditation

The Stabat Mater is a mediaeval poem reflecting on Mary’s sorrow as she stands at the foot of the cross watching her son die. In this setting by Domenico Scarlatti, the 10 musical sections are interspersed with words and silence to create a meditation on the Passion.
