500 people gathered at Peterborough Cathedral last night (Monday 19th August) for the official opening of Luke Jerram’s Gaia Earth artwork, which will be suspended under the Cathedral’s central tower until 15th September.

Visitors during evening openings will get the chance to view Gaia from above during the exhibition, and encounter a stunning view of this amazing artwork.

Caring for our fragile planet is a major theme of the Gaia exhibition. Therefore, Peterborough Environment City Trust (PECT) will be enabling visitors to take the Cool Food pledge.

There was a joyful atmosphere at the Cathedral on Tuesday (16th July) as the Diocese's 11 Echo interns and Xpect apprentices came together for an end-of-year worship, Eucharist and celebration service.

Last Sunday (15th July) was a very happy day at Peterborough Cathedral as the Ordination of Priests and Deacons services took place.

Head Gardener, Tanya Simons, has a sterling team of volunteers who help her on a regular basis, but given the scale of the green spaces in the Precincts, there are always plenty of things to be done...

Booking is now open for evening tickets to see Luke Jerram’s Gaia Earth artwork, which will be suspended under the central tower of Peterborough Cathedral from 19th August until 15th September.

‘Gaia’, a seven metre, 3D artwork by Luke Jerram, will be on display at Peterborough Cathedral from Monday 19th August until Sunday 15th September – and the Cathedral is looking for volunteers to help look after visitors.

From Monday 19 August to Sunday 15 September 2019 Gaia, a touring artwork by Luke Jerram, will hang under the central tower inside the Cathedral.
