One Small Step

It's a Walk on the Moon - at Peterborough Cathedral! It's a virtual moonscape by the artist Peter Walker using NASA images. It's for all ages - and it's all summer long! We have lift-off!

Final Descent

No ticket needed. Entry by donation. Flat heeled shoes only to walk on the moon surface. Hand-held cameras allowed for personal, non-commercial use. Sharing photos on social media? Please include #OneSmallStep.

Viewing is at ground level, except on selected dates when you can see  One Small Step from above (ages 8+): Moon with a View

Capsule Doors Open

Within normal Cathedral visiting hours. Mon-Sat 10am-4pm, Sun 12noon-3pm, Thursdays during school hols 6.30pm-8.30pm. Please be aware that these hours can vary due to services or events. Please check here before visiting: Opening Hours.

Saturday 24th July at 7.30pm
Gabriella Sings 'Songs to the Moon'
A much-awaited concert by the mezzo-soprano Gabriella Pineda-Rodrigues.
Accompanied by pianist Kate Wishart.
Tickets £15 each plus booking fee.

Saturday 31st July between 7pm & 9pm
A silent disco with 'Dancing on the Moon'
Come on all you space-hoppers.
Lose your sense of gravity in the moon craters and bop!
Flat shoes only. Tickets: £7 each + booking fee, with discount for groups of 10 or more. 

Monday 2nd - Saturday 7th August 10am, 12 noon and 2pm.
One Giant Leap

A fun children's Astronaut Training session and Teddy Bear parachute jump. 
90-minute session. All children to be accompanied by responsible adult.
Tickets £6 per child including teddy to take home.

Sundays 8th,15th & 22nd August 
Space for God
Informal worship using One Small Step as a prompt to consider the grandeur of God’s creation.
Bring a cushion if you’d like to sit on the moon floor (nearby chairs will be available).

Wednesday 11th/Thursday 12th August 10am, 12 noon and 2pm. 
Safe in Space

In the Cloisters. Fun 30-minute outdoor show presented by the Cambridge Science Centre. Tickets: Entry by donation.
Limited numbers so please book your place(s) in advance.

From Saturday 30th July Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, and selected Thursday eveningsMoon floor from above and tower view
Moon with a View
Climb the ancient stone steps and see One Small Step from above.
Then climb up further to see the amazing view from the top of the central tower. 
From 10.30am, every 45 minutes. Last climb at 1.30pm. 
Times may be subject to change. Tickets: £6 per person. Ages 8+.
Book and pay on arrival. Conditions apply.

Friday 22nd October 7.30pm for 8.00pm 
Meet you at the Moon with ‘Shakeout’
Half-term family night out bopping to excellent covers band, Shakeout.
Feel-good hits including moon-related favourites.
Tickets: £10 adult, £6 child, £30 family (2 adults, 3 children) + booking fee.

Thursday 28th October 10.00am to 4.00pm.
Star Dome Inflatable Planetarium

Sessions on the hour in the Cathedral
The National Space Centre in Leicester bring their amazing inflatable
planetarium to the Cathedral to give tours of the night sky.
Tickets: £5 per person + booking fee.
