Cathedral announces appointment of new Volunteer Coordinator

Tuesday 14 May

Peterborough Cathedral has announced the appointment of Ed Bailey to the new post of Volunteer Coordinator.

Ed comes to the Cathedral office having previously worked on the welcome desk at the Cathedral. A Law graduate, Ed worked for over 20 years in Recruitment and HR Support within the IT and Telecommunications sector. Outside of work, he currently volunteers for the Scouts, Friends of Chernobyl’s Children and Bourne Outdoor Pool.

Ed Bailey said:

"I’m delighted to be the new Volunteer Coordinator at Peterborough Cathedral. I’m passionate about volunteering!

"My four key objectives as Volunteer Coordinator at the Cathedral are to ensure all our existing volunteers are well looked after and valued; that we recruit new volunteers; that we follow best practice in all our procedures, policies and administration; and that we improve communication to our volunteers. We are fortunate to have so many inspirational volunteers at the Cathedral whose vital contribution and commitment ensures the Cathedral can continue its mission and work.

"We are currently recruiting for Tower Tour Guides, Welcome Desk Volunteers and Visitor Learning Centre Volunteers. If you have suggestions or know anyone who would be keen to volunteer, please contact me on 01733 355304 or email volunteer.coordinator@peterborough-cathedral.org.uk."
