Worship is central to Cathedral life and has continued on this site for more than 900 years.

Public worship on Sundays

It is not necessary to register your attendance in advance.

A public service of Holy Communion is held at 10.30am every Sunday in the Cathedral, with Coronavirus restrictions in place.

Please note that, in line with current Governmment legislation, you will be:

  • Required to wear a face covering in the Cathedral, which may be removed to receive Holy Communion.

  • Required to sanitise your hands as you enter the Cathedral.

  • Asked to leave your details for the NHS Test and Trace scheme.

  • Asked to sit as directed by Stewards, taking up seats from the front.

Online Sunday service

The Cathedral offers an online service each Sunday via our Facebook page and YouTube channel. This video is usually uploaded at around 9.30am. You can view it at a time to suit you. On the same links you can find previous services.

Additional online services

Occasionally there are additional online services, for example the livestreamed City Praise service, roughly once a month. Dates and links for these additional services will be added here when they are confirmed.

Daily worship

Whilst Coronavirus restrictions are in place, the clergy and others continue to say Morning Prayer every weekday at 8.30am via Zoom (9.00am on Saturdays). You are welcome to join them. Just email to ask for the link from or

You may also like to read the reflections posted on the Cathedral's Facebook page each morning, Monday to Saturday.
