The 50-mile challenge: join the Cathedrals’ Cycle Relay from Peterborough to Leicester on 8th July.

Dust off your Lycra and join a team cycling the 50-mile Peterborough to Leicester leg of the national Cathedrals Cycle Route on Friday 8th July.

Peterborough to Leicester is just one section of the Relay, which takes a baton around all 42 English cathedrals via the Cathedrals’ Cycle Route. It’s a journey of nearly 2000 miles which began on 6th June at Newcastle.

There are options to stop off and return by train from Stamford (14 miles from Peterborough) or Oakham (28 miles from Peterborough). You also have the option to join the ride at these locations. See below for full route information.

Registration and timing

Registration is now closed.

Registered cyclists will receive final details by email in the week leading up to the event. The idea is to meet on the green in front of the Cathedral at 9.00am, ready for departure at 9.30am on Friday 8th July 2022.
