With an average of around 100 school visits a year, the Cathedral is fortunate to receive a huge amount of letters from children, teachers, group leaders and schools telling us of the fantastic time the children have had.
Below are a number of examples of the effect the experience has had on some of the children and teachers who have visited over the last few years:
‘We are writing to say thank you for the excellent tour of the Cathedral you gave us today. We all enjoyed our spectacular visit to Peterborough Cathedral and learnt a lot about it (even the teachers!). I particularly enjoyed learning about the blessed arm of Oswald. When you told us no-one knows where it is, it made my tummy squirm around as it always does when I’m curious! Once again, we thank you for showing us around the Cathedral.’

‘We are writing to thank you for the extremely interesting guided tour of Peterborough Cathedral you gave us. Everyone of us thoroughly enjoyed our visit and we all learned something new about the Cathedral. It was a fascinating trip and it was amazing to discover how old everything really was. It must have taken ages to build the tallest tower! It was a brilliant experience and once again, thank you!’

‘I am writing to express our grateful thanks to you for your interesting and informative tour of the Cathedral yesterday. All the children greatly enjoyed the visit, and learned a great deal about both the building and the Christian faith, probably more than they had learned in their RE lessons. I am looking forward to mounting a display of the photographs , sketches and written work that they produce. Thank you again for all your help.’
