The Story of the Abbey Exhibition

As well as specific cultural and educational events to look out for at Peterborough Cathedral, there is also the permanent Abbey exhibition on offer inside the building, which provides a fascinating insight into the history of the Cathedral and the surrounding site, complete with cutaway models, replicas of religious artifacts and an interesting depiction of life as a Benedictine Monk.

We also have a number of interactive touch screens around the Cathedral floor giving a more detailed insight into the intricacies of our beautiful Nave ceiling and another that explores Christianity and how the building reflects the Jesus story.

In addition to our own exhibition, we regularly host a number of external exhibitions varying from local art displays in the New Building to an exhibition depicting the life of those in prison, which includes a replica mock cell!
