Read more … Cathedral Closed to Visitors – Tuesday 8th May from 12.30pm to 2.00pm
For those unable to regularly attend our services through illness, or for those who prefer to worship privately, there are a number of ways to assist your prayer/worship as part of our community. These include:
In the event of illness or disability, arrangements can be made for a minister to visit for Home Communion or to make hospital visits. Please contact the Canon Missioner, Jonathan Baker, on jonathan.baker@peterborough-cathedral.org.uk or call the Cathedral Office on 01733 355310.
Peterborough Cathedral provides for individuals to engage in private prayer in one of the smaller chapels and more intimate areas of peaceful sacred space. Here visitors are welcome to seek comfort and reflect at any time of the day.
The Cathedral is open for private prayer from 7.30am until around 6.30pm during the week and 7.30am to 5.00pm at weekends. There may be other services or activities taking place from time to time, but anyone is welcome to come and sit quietly and spend some time exploring their spirituality at the Cathedral, and we also have a prayer board and a number of candle stands.
As well as the Cathedral building itself, the Cathedral grounds also play a vital part in providing a tranquil and comforting space to escape to and gather your thoughts in the peace and tranquility. The beautiful cloisters are probably the most private spot, and the West Front lawn and surrounding areas are also available for visitors to use as a spiritual resource.
For those unable to come to the Cathedral but who would like to share in worship led by our clergy from the comfort of their own home , visitors are welcome to use our Prayer and Sermon Archives and we also upload Weekly Service sheets to enable those who cannot be present at the Cathedral to access resources supporting the Christian faith.
