School Visits - Prices & Booking

Booking

All school visits need to be booked in advance. This is to avoid the disappointment of arriving and finding that access is not possible for some reason. To book or find out more you simply need to call the Education Office on 01733 352676 and speak to Mark Tomlins, Schools & Families Officer. Alternatively, you can email mark.tomlins@peterborough-cathedral.org.uk.

When you speak to the Education Office we will sort out a date (it is a good idea to have alternatives in mind in case we have difficulty meeting your first choice) and time and other details and make a provisional booking in the Cathedral Diary. You will shortly receive a form giving these basic details. You should check and return this form as soon as possible to confirm your booking. All school groups will be given a short introduction to the Cathedral’s history and purpose.

Prices

a. Unguided visit - We do not have a fixed charge but expect all groups to make a donation that reflects the value of the trip as an educational experience. We suggest up to £1 per pupil.

b. Guided Tour - A guided tour lasts just over an hour and we provide one guide for every 20 pupils. The tour will focus on whatever aspect of the curriculum you are particularly interested in (Place of Worship, Tudors, Art and Design etc).
Cost: £1.50 per pupil (one free place for every 10 booked)

c. A Classroom Activity (see Education Centre for details)
