What visitor facilities do you have onsite?

Refreshment

We are delighted to now offer a new refreshment facility for our visitors – Cathedral Coffee and Cookies – which provides a select but delicious range of cakes, cookies, hot and cold drinks and/or sandwiches. The coffee shop is open Monday to Saturday from 10-3pm and is located in The Benedict Rooms. (Exit the Cathedral via main entrance and turn to the left).

Gifts and merchandise

The Cathedral runs a Souvenir Kiosk from inside the Cathedral at the West End near the main door. It is a small mobile unit offering a beautiful range of token gifts including jewellery, books, crafts, trinkets, cards and souvenirs. It is open during normal visiting hours and occassionaly at certain ‘out of hours’ events. Parishes are also able to order church supplies from the Cathedral by telephoning 01733 355315 or emailing bookshop@peterborough-cathedral.org.uk

Public Convenience

The Cathedral has numerous toilets around the site – mainly outside the South Transept door, in the Benedict Rooms, in the Education Centre and the Becket Chapel. Disabled toilets are available in the Education Centre and Becket Chapel.

Disabled Provision

Provision can be arranged within the Cathedral Grounds for the disabled or in special circumstances. There are designated disabled bays. There is an access ramp for wheelchair users at the West Door and level access via the South Transept Door. Once inside, all areas are accessible to wheelchair users except the tower and upper levels tour. The Education Centre has level access and the Becket Chapel also allows wheelchair access to a toilet facility facilities for the disabled. A touch/hearing centre and specially formulated written material are available for the blind and partially sighted and a sensory tour can be organised with prior arrangement.
