Is the Cathedral open all the time?

As a public place of worship the Cathedral is open to the public 364 days a year.

We are closed on Boxing Day but for the rest of the year we are open for Morning Prayer from 7.30am until after Evensong at 5.30pm, which tends to finish at around 6.15pm during the week.

At weekends the Cathedral is open from 7.30am until after Evensong, which begins a little earlier at 3.30pm on Saturdays and Sundays and so finishes at around 4.30pm.

Visitors are welcome to stay for all services and experience the fine English tradition of Choral Evensong, but for visitors who do not wish to stay, visiting hours end at 5.30pm in the week and 5.00pm at the weekends.
