Can we bring a large group of visitors or school children?

Planned visits by groups are always welcome and these might be either guided or unguided tours and can be arranged outside normal opening hours if desired.

Tours are available of the Cathedral itself, the upper levels and towers, the Precincts or the Deanery Garden but if you are bringing a group and would like a guided tour you will need to book as far in advance as possible by calling 01733 355300.

If you do not wish to have the services of a Cathedral guide, but wish to bring your own guide the same charges apply as if you were using a Cathedral guide of £4 per adult, £3 concessions.

Schools visits are also welcome and there are numerous opportunities for learning at the Cathedral and not just about Christianity. Trips the Cathedral are extremely popular with local schools as our tour programmes fall in line with the National Curriculum and can be tailored around subjects such as science, RE, history and art and design.

As well as school tours, we also offer the opportunity for interactive school roadshows where our Education Officer comes out to the school with slides, model displays, clothes and props for children to enjoy. We also run very popular Tudor Days.
