Take a Tour at Peterborough Cathedral

Friday 7 April

Whether you have head for heights and are ready to tackle a Tower Tour, or prefer to keep your feet on the ground, there are some wonderful guided tours on offer at Peterborough Cathedral.

Take a Tower Tour

Quite possibly the best tenner I’ve ever spent” is how one visitor described the famous Tower Tour at Peterborough Cathedral. The tour, led by a knowledgeable volunteer guide, goes up the steep stone stairs and onto walkways looking down into the body of the Cathedral. Other highlights include seeing the bell ringing chamber, the rare 13th century wooden windlass and close up views of the stained glass.

You will also arrive at the top of the tower where, on a fine day, you can see spectacular views over the city.  The route crosses inside the Gothic vaults 25 metres high over the West Front, before descending to ground level.

Tower Tours are scheduled for 1.30pm on Wednesday 12th, Saturday 15th, Wednesday 19th, Saturday 22nd April, as well as Saturday 27th and Wednesday 31st May 2017.

Tickets are £10 adults and £8 concessions (ages 10+ only).
