Peterborough Cathedral is a powerful sign of the Christian Faith. It is very much a living and working church, as it has been since it was founded in the 7th Century. The primary activity of the Cathedral is the worship of God.
It is the Cathedral Church for the Diocese of Peterborough – one of 43 dioceses of the Church of England and part of the Anglican Communion.
All members of the public are welcome to enjoy the building, grounds, and events and services in the Cathedral.
As well as being a resource for the Diocese of Peterborough we seek also to build up the faith of the Cathedral community, and to influence the City and wider region with the good news of Jesus Christ. We offer encouragement and support for anyone wishing to explore the Christian faith or the life of the worshipping community.
The Cathedral community is extensive and includes our staff, congregation, visitors, volunteers and guides.
This section provides information about the Cathedral community, our local and global outreach work, pastoral care, and the Diocese of Peterborough Diocesan links, as well as the Christian Education Programme which we offer. You will also find information on how to get involved and help to preserve the Cathedral for generations to come or to support Peterborough 900, our development campaign.
If you have questions regarding any of these areas, please contact Canon Missioner Jonathan Baker on 01733 352676 or email jonathan.baker@peterborough-cathedral.org.uk.
