Worship is central to Cathedral life. You will be warmly welcomed at any of our services.

Opening Times for Services

Monday-Saturday 7.30am - 6.30pm. Sunday 7.30am - 5.00pm

The main services are:

The Cathedral Eucharist
This is the principal weekly act of worship in the life of the Cathedral on Sunday, when the congregation are fed and enriched by listening to Holy Scripture and by the sacramental presence of Christ in bread and wine. The service is enfolded in fine music and the preacher is usually one of the Cathedral clergy.

Matins and Evensong
These are the two principal 'Offices' of Morning and Evening Prayer. They have been offered here, every day, for hundreds of years. The Bible is read and canticles and psalms are sung.

What to expect at a service of Choral Evensong.
