Peterborough Cathedral is one of the top 10 landmarks in the UK and is a truly undiscovered national gem.
With some 80,000 visitors a year, it is an icon of the region, the heart of Peterborough, the home of its people and a sacred space for all to enjoy either for a casual trip or on a regular basis as a dedicated member of our community.
There are many ways in which you can enjoy the Cathedral and its offering from simply visiting with family and friends, attending our events and services or joining one of our two main fundraising bodies and playing a larger part in our Cathedral community.
We are always grateful for any support provided by our committed community and the Cathedral’s work simply could not be sustained without all those who contribute to the worship and prayer, visitor experience and hospitality and not least, our Cathedral finances.
Peterborough Cathedral has charitable status and receives no direct financial aid either from the state or the churches of the diocese to provide in excess of £1.3 million per annum to keep the Cathedral open 364 days of the year.
It is the Cathedral community which promotes the continued life of the Cathedral for people to enjoy in futures years and anyone from any background, religious persuasion or indeed those of none are welcome to join us and get involved in caring for the Cathedral in the years to come.
