The Friends of Peterborough Cathedral is an association of people worldwide who love this magnificent building and wish to help maintain and enhance it for present and future generations as well as to enjoy one another’s company through a programme of social, cultural and religious activities..While many members live locally there are others further afield who simply enjoy receiving information about the Cathedral, its mission and community life.

The association is one of the oldest in the country, being founded in July 1927. Since then the Friends has funded a wide range of projects which have included:

  • Repairs to the Great West Window
  • Re-siting of the Treasury
  • Cassocks and surplices for the Girls’ Choir
  • Repairs to the Tesserae Pavement
  • Re-siting of the font in the nave
  • New vestibule for the south transept

As a ‘Friend’ you will:

  • Receive the fully illustrated Annual Journal, free of charge. This contains a wide range of articles about the history and ongoing work of the Cathedral.
  • Keep in touch with the Cathedral, and receive advance notice of forthcoming events.
