Read more … Cathedral Closed to Visitors – Tuesday 8th May from 12.30pm to 2.00pm
In April 2009, the Dean of Peterborough, the Very Reverend Charles Taylor, added a very different tour to the Cathedral’s extensive range, with a number of Deanery Garden Open Days. There are at present only 3 a year, on selected dates from the middle of April until the middle of June.
As an Edwardian/Victorian Spring 2 acre garden, this is when the trees, flowers, plants and wildlife are truly at their best. This is your chance to discover the delights behind the Deanery Garden walls at the Cathedral - a rare and novel opportunity.
Already seen close to 800 people have passed through the gates, each of them turning out to enjoy the sunshine, picnic in the grounds, visit our plant and refreshment stalls and take part in a guided garden tour.
Admission charges are just £3 for entrance and an optional extra £2 if you would like a guided tour. Free entrance for Children under 10 years old. Visitors are welcome to come into the garden to just sit and relax and enjoy the sights , or indeed bring along a picnic lunch to have in the Garden.
The tours must be pre-booked in advance.
