Six things to see if your time is limited

Admission Charges

The Cathedral has no fixed charge for admission

Welcome staff invite all visitors to make a donation towards the upkeep of the fabric of the building (suggested donation £3.50 adults; £2.50 concessions; group leaders who have not booked tours are asked to make a donation on behalf of their whole group). The Cathedral has no fixed charge for admission. However, there is a fixed minimum charge for all group visits which the group leader will be expected to pay (see Tours)."

Toilets

Toilets are available in the Cathedral and at Beckets Restaurant, the Education Centre and the Business Café.

Picnics

Picnics are allowed in the Cloister (accessible only through the Cathedral) and in the Cathedral grounds generally.

Disabled Access

Wheelchairs - there is an access ramp at the West Door and level access via the South Transept Door.  Once inside all areas are accessible to wheelchair users except the tower and upper levels tour.  The Education Centre and Beckets Restaurant have level access and a wheelchair access toilet facility.  A wheelchair lift gives access to the shop and to the Tourist Information Centre, which is also in the Precincts.

A touch/hearing centre and specially formatted written material are available for the blind and partially sighted and a sensory tour can be organised by prior arrangement.  A hearing loop is provided for use during services (setting T). There is limited parking available in the Precincts, but it may be possible to arrange a temporary parking permit for disabled badge holders via the Chapter Office.
