Baptism in the Cathedral 

All those on the Cathedral Roll, Electoral Roll, living in the Cathedral Precincts or children of qualifying adults are entitled to Baptism in the Cathedral.

Applications from outside the Cathedral Congregation are to be accompanied by the written consent of the appropriate Parish Priest and will be performed at the discretion of the Chapter.

All applications for baptism are to be approved by the Canon Pastor or the Canon Precentor. The Canon Precentor is to be kept informed of all Baptisms.

Baptisms usually take place at the Sunday 10:30 Eucharist by mutual arrangement with the parents and the Cathedral through the Canon Precentor. They will be performed by members of the Cathedral Clergy or by another ordained person with the permission of the Chapter.

There is no fee for a service of Baptism. A certificate, if required, costs £9.00.
