Polls suggest that fewer and fewer people know the Easter Story. Most people, even non-Christians, know something of the meaning of Christmas, at least that December the 25th marks the birth of Jesus. But increasing numbers, especially of younger people, don’t know what Good Friday or Easter Day are about.

When the next Archbishop of Canterbury, the Most Revd Justin Welby, is enthroned on Thursday (21 March), he will be wearing the same cope and mitre once worn by the former Bishop of Peterborough, the Rt Revd Ian Cundy, who died in 2009. They were given to the Archbishop by the Cundy family two years ago.
